Ballacorey/Braust Farm are run as an arable operation with no livestock. We grow a variety of crops for sale both on and off the island. These are:

1)Peas
The are gown for incorporation into animal feed used on the island.

2)Wheat
This is grown mainly for use in daily bread after being miilled into flour at our local mill

3)Barley
This is grown for both animal feed and malting to be turned into local beer.

4)Oilseed Rape
This is a new crop which we have recently introduced fro turning into animal food, cooking oil and bio diesel.

5)Grassland
This is for horse or sheep graze or for the making of hay.

We hope you take the opportunity to see these various crops being planted and nurtured as they grow and up until the time they are being harvested.
During this period you will also see varied wildlife grow and flourish in this changing environment
